So here’s something I find really fascinating.

And really, really awesome. This is a killer perspective. Guess what, you either learn or you earn. Right. Drop the L, right? You either learn or you earn. One or the other. When you take on that perspective and framework for anything you do related to business, wow. Business becomes super fun because what you can do is you can get creative and you can say, guess what? I’m going to try this out. I’ve never tried it before. I don’t know if it’s going to work. It wasn’t taught to me. Let me experiment here and then document what happens, okay? What happens if I do 30 days of TikToks in a row? Does my account grow? Is it a waste of time? Do I figure out what videos work? Do I figure out whether my audience is on the platform? Does it help me land a client? Or do I just decide, no, that platform is not for me. When you take that perspective, guys, growing your online coaching business and consulting business can be a ton of fun because you can take your audience on a journey and you are giving value to your audience by teaching them, this doesn’t work.

Or simultaneously, this did work. Alright? And so we’re going to blow the doors off of this one. We’re going to have a ton of fun. Let’s get going.

Hey, you guys, Dino Gomez here and you are listening to the Secrets of Coaching podcast, where we break down the nuances of growing a seven figure online coaching business. And we are about to get started in 3 2 1.

All right, so you either learn or you earn. So as you go about your day today, right, whether it’s Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday evening or morning, when you are listening to this right now, it is 07:00 A.m. on a Tuesday morning. Just got done with a really nice beach walk with my mom and we both brought our dogs along. We got out there at 05:50 A.m.. We’re like the only ones on the beach. It was amazing. Really nice out, saw the sunrise, all the different things. Had a nice hour walk and talk and all the different things. But I want you guys to think about this. You either learn or you earn. All right? So what cool things can you do inside of your business? Think about this. If you feel like, oh my gosh, it’s just another day, another week, and this is getting boring, this is getting old. I feel like I feel pressure and stress. I need to do this certain thing. You can make business fun in a flash by just going, hey, what cool things should I try? That would be fun.

That would be an experiment. That would be different. That would be creative. And when you decide to actually do this experiment inside of your business. The key is in order to make this a learning experience and valuable to your audience. Because guess what? It can be valuable to your audience even if you fail. All right? As long as you document it and then you share what you learned. All right? Very fascinating. I look at the email open rates based on subject and topic, and some of our most opened and read and engaged with emails are ones where I talk about my failures. I go, hey, don’t do this. I totally mess this up. People find that fascinating. They go, okay, cool. Thank you, Dino. I will not do that. Thank you for sharing that with me. I don’t want to make that mistake as well. So people almost find that more fascinating than here is what to do. So when you understand that, guys, there is no such thing as failure as long as you document it. As long as you just say, hey, guys, guess what? I tried this launch. I tried this new style of launch where I did this weird thing and I tried this community aspect and this and this and this.

And guess what? It flopped. It was miserable. Here’s what I learned. Don’t do this. Don’t do this. This old way is better. People are going to be like, that’s super helpful. It doesn’t discredit you whatsoever because you’re able to say, hey, don’t do it like this. Here’s how I’m going to try it next time. And that’s really cool as well. That’s called future pacing. When you say, hey, guys, I just tried it like this. It didn’t work. Here the tweaks I’m going to make and how I’m going to approve for next time. Stay tuned. I’m going to take you on the journey and let you know the results of when I make these adjustments for next time. People find that awesome. They’re like, it’s like reading a book, watching a movie, right? Would you watch a nobody likes a boring story or a movie. Think about it. Would you watch a movie where the main character wakes up in a mansion with planes and Ferraris and perfect life on the beach or wherever it is? They have a perfect life. If the entire movie was their perfect life, you would get bored, right? There’s always like, no, there’s a problem.

There’s something that happens. There’s relationship issues. There’s health issues. There’s something that happens that makes it a story, right? And so nobody likes a boring story, so it’s okay if you fail to document it and share. Here’s what I learned. Here are the adjustments are going to make. Here’s what I recommend you doing. People are going to be like, oh, that was awesome. And it’s not going to discredit you of anything. They’re going to go, wow, this is really real and authentic. I want to be with a coach that’s learning, stretching, growing, testing new things, that’s one of the things I love to do is we’re always testing different things. I’ll tell you guys about my 30 days of tick talking because I do not like TikTok in terms of a creator platform. But I was like, you know what? It’s really blowing up. I should try this out. Let me see what happens if I make an effort to create as many videos as possible. The 30 day period, does my account grow? Is it worth my time or is it a platform? Not for me quite yet. So I’ll share those results with you guys.

But that’s the concept, guys. Nobody likes boring story. You either learn or you earn. So as you go about your day or as you look into tomorrow, you can look at it with a little gleam in your eye like, hey, what cool thing should I try out today? And guess what? It doesn’t even have to be related to business. It can be in other facets of life. Like, I’m going to try this other cool weird diet thing that I just researched. This will be kind of fun. And guess what? Even if you are in the business space, people love hearing what you’re doing outside of your business as well. So document the journey. Either learn or you earn. And now with that perspective, there’s no failure. It’s just a fun adventure and you get to take your audience and followers on this journey with you. That’s it for this episode, guys. See you guys tomorrow.

So I was talking to my mindset coach and peak performance coach the other day and it was really, really cool what they said to me. They said, hey, Dino, guess what? You want to hear something rad? I was like, always, I live for rad. Tell me something cool. Give me opened up. What’s going on? And they said, what do you think about this? Nothing is forever. They’re like, there’s nothing positive that lasts forever and there’s nothing negative that lasts forever. So when you understand that and you can take that look at things and that lens, it might dictate, it might change the way you operate, it the way you think, feel all different things. And so we’re going to talk about that today, guys, because if you’re going through a difficult season, if it is winter right now in your life where things are a little bit more chaotic and whatnot, guess what? That’s not going to last forever. Summer is going to be here in a moment. And if you were in summer and everything is flowing and so forth, guess what? At some point in time it’s going to break and slow down a little bit.

This is a story of all about who am I. Hey, you guys, Dino Gomez here and you are listening to the Secrets of Coaching podcast, where we break down the nuances of growing a seven figure online coaching business. And we are about to get started in 3 2 1.

Nothing is forever. Such a fascinating concept. All right, so right now you might be like, oh, you know what? It just wasn’t it hasn’t been the best week or month of business, right? And that happens, guys. Every business doesn’t matter what business it is. Guess what? Because I love the concept of duality. Every business has a bad month. Guess what? Every single year it actually happens to every single business. Because if we look at the twelve months in a calendar year, there is going to be one month that was the lowest in comparison to the other eleven months. So even if your business is growing month over month over month over month or consistently isn’t on upward trend, when you look at twelve months, there’s going to be one month that you’re like, that was the low point of the calendar year. So perspective is so massive like that, right? And so when we look at this concept of nothing is forever, if you’ve had a tough month, that’s okay. That’s not going to last as long as you are focusing on your profit levers. We talk about this a lot with our seven figure visionary clients.

We give all of our clients three profit levels, which are just the only three things you need to focus on in your business. We have all of our clients focus on getting those three things done as quickly as possible in the morning. Normally it takes about 20 or 25 minutes, but we basically simplified growing a coaching business down to spending 25 minutes doing the three most important tasks. And then the rest of the day is kind of just client management and some other different things, creating more opportunities otherwise. But things can change really fast. So as long as you’re focused on the right things and you know what those things are, you will get out of your temporary slump. Again, everybody has a little bit of a slump at some point in time. Don’t worry. As long as you know what you should be doing, you will get out of it. Now, on the flip side, you can be crushing it right now. And when you are crushing it, do everything you can to stay in that flow. Journal what you are doing so you can document and have a nice process and system for repeating that, so that you can maintain that consistency to stay in that flow as long as possible.

But even if you do everything right, circumstances change, economies change, all different things change. You might have a team member that decides to take off and do something else and all of a sudden you’re kind of, oh my gosh, dynamics of your business has changed. I need to have another hire, another team member. Things are always going to happen. That’s the excitement of growing a business guy. And again, we have an opportunity here because when things happen to us outside of our control, again, your whole business could essentially be built on your Instagram following. And guess what? Your Instagram account is wiped out. That’s out of your control, right? But what is in your control is how you respond to it, right? And so control what you can, which is your emotions, your thought process, your thought process, and then also your feelings and the action you take, right? But again, even because things are out of our control, things will happen to you at some point in time and it will cause a little bit of chaos. That is okay, that is normal. It’s always about having the perspective and knowing, okay, here’s what I’m going to do to bounce back.

So as we look at everything, if this is a challenging season for you, just know that it is temporary. It is temporary. You’ve had a challenging time in your life before, you will get through it. And if everything is flourishing, awesome. Guess what? Enjoy the moment. Soak it all in. Document the process and so forth. And just know also it won’t last forever. I love that perspective. I hope that’s helpful guys. Make it an absolutely killer day. We will see you guys tomorrow.

One of the most common questions I receive is this Dino I had a great sales call with a prospect. Like, they just seem like they would be an amazing client. The call went really good. We got to the end, they had had some objections. We spoke through those, and they need some time to think about it, and I want to respect that. And so we left the call. And now I’m wondering, how do I follow up with a prospect that I think would be a great fit? And I know they like me, but I want to follow up with them in the right way. I don’t want to follow up as needy or pushy. What should I do and or say? That’s what we’re going to be talking about today. Let’s dive in.

This is a story of all about who am I. Hey, you guys, Dino Gomez here and you are listening to the Secrets of Coaching podcast, where we break down the nuances of growing a seven figure online coaching business. And we are about to get started in 3 2 1.

How do I follow up with a prospect without seeming needy or pushy? I love this one guy. I love this one. It’s actually a two step process, all right? So number one is the first thing that we need to do is we need to get you into an energetic state of abundance, all right? So right now, you are so focused on this one client, this one prospect, that now you are now naturally becoming needy and pushy because you want this sale so bad, you want to help this client so bad. And it’s great to want to help somebody, and it’s great to want to create new revenue as well. However, what we need to do is shift the focus from this one prospect to a flooding the marketplace with more value. All right? So instead of just focusing on zeroing and I have to have this one client, I have to have this one prospect close that’s going to naturally make you needy or pushy with everything that you do. And so instead, focus on creating more opportunities, because if you only have one prospect per month, you are in trouble, right? You will be focused on that one prospect and following up with them because they’re the only opportunity that you have.

Now, if you create ten new opportunities a week to sign new clients, all of a sudden you’re in a more abundant state and you have more opportunities, right? And the prospect will feel that as well. They will notice that as well. And what this will do is this will make it so that you are naturally not needy or pushy with anything that you do. Now, we do want to follow up because it’s important to let the prospect know that we care about them and that we remember them. And this is one of the easiest ways and most strategic ways to out position yourself if you are smaller to larger competitors. Because if we look at big name gurus, I’m talking the biggest name gurus that have a million followers, plus they cannot do follow up like you can because they have too many followers. They can’t respond to everybody’s comments on their content because they have hundreds, if not thousands of comments per post or video that they release. And so the advantage you have when you were smaller as a newer coach or consultant is that you can respond to comments, you can build deep connections, you can follow up with prospects.

So you absolutely should do that. But first thing you need to do is energetically get into an abundant state, be focused on creating more opportunities for yourself. All right, stay busy with that. So that’s step one. All right, focus on creating more opportunities. Then step two. When it is time to follow up with a prospect, what you want to do is you want to follow up with them by adding more value. All right? This is the opposite of being needy or pushy, because if you were just like, you know what, I’m just going to flood the marketplace with value, which is step one state of abundance, then rather than following up and just saying, hey, how are things going? Have you made a decision? Are you ready to sign on board that is going to come across as needy or pushy? Whereas if you follow up instead and just say, hey, Sharice, I really enjoyed chatting with you, I put together a five minute video for you that I think would be really helpful. Would you like me to send that over? If you follow up with Sharisse, your prospect in that manner, you are following up by adding more value, you are further enacting the law of reciprocity, which is solidifying Sharisse decision.

Sharisse is still making this decision and she’s waiting to see what you are going to do or say what your reaction is going to be. So when you follow up and just say, hey, I’m going to give you even more value, you are locking in that you are the right decision that she will be taking care of well when she decides to go with you. And then from there, you’re given her five minute additional bonus training that you personally send to her. And that’s going to reengage the conversation there because she might have questions about the video. She might also say, hey, in the meantime, I’ve been thinking about, now I’m ready to go. I really like that there’s all these amazing things that happen. So how do you follow up with a prospect without seeing me need to or pushy? I love this one, guys. I haven’t heard anyone ever talk about this one before, but this is one of many cool strategies that we help our clients with, one of many. So I just want to give you guys a good, tangible taster here, right? Is that it’s a two step process. One, focus on creating more opportunities so you’re at an abundant state to follow up by adding more value.

We like to do so in the form of a five minute video training. Go ahead, try that one out, guys. Let me know. Seriously. Reach out to me on Facebook when that one lands you a client, because I’d love to hear and celebrate with you the success in that one. But that one works absolutely amazing. I hope that was helpful for you guys. Make it an amazing, amazing day. We’ll see you guys tomorrow.

I hear this question a lot. It goes like this, Dino, I don’t know what’s going on. How do I grow my audience? Why am I not getting any engagement whatsoever? This is normal I get like, at least, like, ten people that react to my content and just nobody has seen anything I’m posting right now. What do I do? I hear that one a lot. Or the other one I hear a lot is, hey, it’s just the same people commenting over and over again. What do I do? How do I reach more people? We’re going to dive into this one today.

This is a story of all about who am I. Hey, you guys, Dino Gomez here and you are listening to the Secrets of Coaching podcast, where we break down the nuances of growing a seven figure online coaching business. And we are about to get started in 3 2 1.

Why am I not getting any engagement? How do I grow my audience? Do I need to run ads to grow my audience? What do I have to do? Well, short answer is you do not need to run ads to grow your audience. One of the things we work on with our clients and a seven figure visionary is we show them how to grow their audience fast without running ads. Now, we do recommend running ads once you have a six figure business, that means all of your five Core Pillars are dialed in. Five Core Pillars being message marketing, offer sales, delivery. These are the five core components we help our clients with, because you need all of them firing for your business to grow. So if you’re wondering, why am I do know, I’m at three K a month. I have some clients, but I want more. What’s going on? It’s probably one of the five pillars is a little bit broken, needs tweaking, needs upgrading. So you’ve been able to land a couple of clients, but here’s why. You don’t have an abundant flow of clients consistently. So it’s one of those five Core Pillars.

Now, we help our clients with those things, and once they are at six figures, then we recommend ads so that they can reach more people and scale. So ads do one of two things. They make it very clear that something is broken. One of the five pillars is broken. If you turn on ads and you don’t have great messaging, you don’t have great marketing, you don’t have a great offer, you can’t close clients on the phone, or you don’t have a great funnel, you’re just going to waste money. So ads amplify the fact that you have something broken, or they amplify the fact that things are working and they make things work faster. All right? But with that said, you can grow your audience without running ads. All right? One of the things we help our clients with is doing just that. There are many different strategies that we use there, but one of which is partnering with individuals influencers, many influencers as well, that might already have an audience of ten or 15,000 so that we can leverage their audience strategically. So you can absolutely get into tactical ways to grow your audience and your reach.

But let’s talk about why you are not getting engagement on your content. Short answer is this it’s that it’s boring. All right, that’s a smack in the face. I’m going to be honest with you. I would rather be honest with you and have it help you then sugarcoat it. It’s because you sound like everyone else. Everyone else. If you are starting a post out. If somebody can read the first three sentences of your post or listen to the first three sentences of your video. And if they cannot tell how this is going to be any different than anything else. They’re not going to watch the rest of the video. They’re not going to comments. They are not going to read the post. And they’re definitely not going to comment or share the post as well. All right? So short answer is, it’s because you sound like everyone else. Which brings us to the next question then, right? Which is the next follow up question I hear after that? Well, do you know, how do I not be boring? How do I stand out? A couple of things you can do. Stories work amazing. People love a good story.

That’s what a book, that’s what a movie is. So stories work fantastic. But really what you really want to do is focus more on your message, right? Messaging. So I have a very different look on messaging than most coaches do. Most coaches go, oh, messaging is that I help statement, right? I help. Women do without. They think it’s that just I help statement. I think that’s where it begins. That’s where messaging begins. That is not what messaging is. It’s just being able to recite a sentence of who you help. That’s where it begins. Real messaging is how you communicate that you understand your prospect and that you can help them in a unique way. That’s what real messaging is. It is every piece of marketing material, video and or written format, emails, Instagram, post, TikTok reels, whatever it is, all of that’s your message, all of that comprises and represents what you do and your unique value proposition. So this goes back into messaging. The reason your content is not getting much engagement is because it’s not unique enough. All right? So you need to sit down and go, okay, how am I unique? What are my core beliefs?

What do I stand for? Stand against? And then you need to get loud about those things. For us, we’re very loud about mini workshops. We help all of our clients employ our mini workshop method as their primary marketing vehicle conversion mechanism to consistently land clients one little mini workshop. Whenever you want to land new clients, boom. Follow this certain method, it’s going to be a very unique workshop compared to anything else online. People are going to be like, wow, that was an awesome workshop, and they’re going to get a ton of value from it, and they’re going to want to work with you afterwards following our framework. So that is a part of our messaging as we talk about mini workshops and how this is vastly different than what everybody else is recommending. So that makes us stand out a lot because we’ve coined and actually trademarked that phrase mini workshop method. And so that is kind of one of our unique messaging styles. We also have the five pillars that we talk about quite a bit and how your business operates as a machine holistically that you cannot just focus on being good at sales.

You cannot just focus on having great branding. You really need all things working nicely and succinctly, which is why we help our clients with all of those things, is because they all actually matter. And so we have dialed in our unique messaging. Our unique messaging extends to our ability to put ourselves in our prospects shoes. So if you want a quick surefire way today, you’re like, tell me something right now that I can go take online and see it in action, see it working. It’s this. Ask yourself, what common questions do I receive from clients and or prospects? And then create a piece of content around that. Notice that the title of this podcast is why am I not getting engagement? It’s probably what you’re thinking or you have experienced before. So I’m literally employing this with this podcast episode by going, hey, what is my audience thinking and feeling right now? What would be helpful to them? How can I put myself in their shoes? They’re probably thinking, how do I get more engagement, more reach? All right, cool. Let me do a podcast episode about that. That is messaging. The question I have for you is can you do the exact same thing?

Can you ask yourself, what is my audience thinking and feeling right now? And that changes on a weekly basis. It changes in seasonality, fall, winter, summer, spring, start of the new year. What is your audience thinking and feeling? Can you answer that? If so, you will build a ton of connection and watch how your engagement skyrockets. That’s one of many cool messaging strategies. Don’t want to overwhelm you. Focus on that one for today and go get them guys. We will see you guys tomorrow. Hope this was super helpful.

It is another sunny and gorgeous morning here in San Diego, California, and just got back from a morning walk with Kona. Have the coffee going. And today is that day. One day a week. On Tuesdays, I allow myself to actually go with my favorite creamer, which is like the mocha mint kind of combo, completely unhealthy. And normally I eat pretty dang healthy and clean, but I allow myself to do that once a week, and I allow that in the middle of the week to kind of break things up. But today, guys, I want to talk about this. I want to talk about how to make your life and your business, how to simplify things, all right? Because oftentimes business can get chaotic, especially if you’re growing. It’s getting chaotic, right? So many more inputs, so many more opportunities. You will notice this as your business begins to grow, one of the toughest things to do is you have to get really good at saying no, because you have more and more people asking for your time and attention. And so that’s a whole different tangent. But I want to share with you guys today something that you can do today, this week, that will make things much easier and what you should focus on.

Let’s dive into this. Let’s go.

This is a story of all about who am I. Hey, you guys, Dino Gomez here and you are listening to the Secrets of Coaching podcast, where we break down the nuances of growing a seven figure online coaching business. And we are about to get started in 3 2 1.

Does anybody here love sweatpants? I’m in sweatpants right now. And because it’s starting to get a little bit chillier here, relatively, I should say, it’s starting to get chillier here. In the mornings and evenings, I have my sweatpants on with a sweater, and we’re kind of at the end of summer, and so I’ve been in, like, tshirt and shorts for like, five months, and it’s finally, like, sweatpants and sweater time. It feels good. I’m enjoying this. So I want to make your life easier today. Here’s one thing that you can focus on that can change everything. So your business is growing. You have some clients. You want more clients. All right? Question you have to ask yourself is, where should my attention go? Let me repeat that. Where should my attention go? What’s the next problem I need to solve? What’s the next thing I need to do? So I to want, quote Einstein on this one. I think this is cool. I love studying the great minds and reverse engineering how these people viewed the world. I think their perspective of things is so cool. But Einstein said this, if I had 1 hour to solve a problem, I would spend 55 minutes defining what the problem is, and then 5 minutes actually 5 minutes actually solving it.

So Einstein, right? One of the world’s greatest thinkers ever said, if I had 1 hour to solve a problem, I would spend 55 minutes going, what is the problem? Let me make sure I even understand what the problem is. And then I’d spend the 5 minutes once I knew what the problem is, just solving it, just doing it. So that’s fascinating, right? So I think it’s safe to say this guy’s genius, right? So you’re sitting here and you’re trying to go, okay, I’m at a certain revenue level, I have a certain number of clients, and I want to bump up to the next level. So the question you need to ask yourself and the thing that you need to focus on is what is holding you back from that next level? That’s the first thing that’s all you need to focus on. What is holding me back from getting to that next level? What would have to change? What would I have to amplify? What would I have to do better? You need to figure out what that might be. Now, that can be a lot of different things that could be, okay, I need to increase the volume of my content.

Okay. My messaging. I don’t need to increase the volume. I just need to get even better with my messaging. It could be no, I just need to work on sales because right now I’m closing. Maybe you’re closing at 20%. If I get that up to 35%, that’s going to equal an extra certain number of clients per month, right, which will be that next level. So first thing you need to do, because you’re probably sitting there and you’re like, okay, because you’re at a new level that you’ve never been to before, naturally you don’t know what is required to get to the next level that you’ve never been to before. And so before you sit there and just think, okay, I just need more hours. That’s not necessarily more hours is not necessarily the answer. You will burn yourself out if you think the only way to grow is by putting in more effort. Instead, what you should be focusing on is how do you sharpen your axe so you can cut down the tree faster? So ask yourself, where do I need to improve? Where should my focus be so that I can get to the next level?

What do I need to optimize? Is it the sales calls? Is it clients resigning with you so that you don’t have to do as much acquisition? You’re going to keep your clients longer? Is it your messaging? Is it your marketing? You need to first define the problem. Once you understand and have defined what the problem is, then you put all your energy into that and that will take you to that next level. So I think that’s so cool because oftentimes we sit there, we get to a new level and normally then we plateau. We sit there for like six months. Some people sit there for years and they don’t understand while putting in more effort, more hours, they don’t understand why they’re still at the same level. It’s because they never clearly defined what the problem was, so they never had direction. So I want to give you guys direction only. You can do that, unless you decide to hop on a call with us, in which case we would sit down with you, and then we would define the problem that happens when you book a call with us. We go, okay, is it your message?

Marketing, offer, sales, or delivery? We look at all five of those components, and we tell you on that call, hey, this is where your focus needs to be. Your messaging needs to be sharper. You need to focus on your messaging. There’s some improvement areas and opportunities around your offer in this manner. And then we need to work on sales as well. We will literally tell you on the call so you know what your direction should be. And then if you’re interested, we will say, if you want help doing those things, here’s what it looks like to join our mastermind. But that’s why we do those on those calls, guys, is because you need that direction first. You need to define what the problem is. So that is your action item for today, guys, and for this week, to find out what your problem is. That will get you to the next level. Hope you guys have killer day. We’ll see you guys tomorrow.
