In today’s episode, we’re going to be breaking down how we have sold out the last four offers we have made for our online coaching business. And I’m going to be breaking down what I believe to be the biggest element to that success so that you can replicate this in your online business. Let’s dive into it, guys.
This is a story of all about who am I. Hey, you guys, Dino Gomez here and you are listening to the Secrets of Coaching podcast, where we break down the nuances of growing a seven figure online coaching business. And we are about to get started in 3 2 1.
All right, guys, let’s dive right into this one. It’s 08:41 A.M. on a Thursday. When I’m recording this. Whatever day of the week you are listening to this, I hope that you guys make it a great day. But here’s what we’re diving into today, guys. We have sold out the last four offers that we have made online for our coaching business, and I’m going to be breaking down what is the biggest element to that success so that you can replicate this inside of your business. The biggest element that I would attribute selling out four consecutive offers to is our ability to remain dynamic, to remain flexible with circumstances, all right? Because here’s the thing about the online business model today, is that there are a lot of factors that go into the equation of how successful you are, how many clients you sign, how much revenue you produce, all of the above, all right? Because things happen outside of what you have planned. For example, we were hosting a mini workshop. We use mini workshops as a way to enroll clients. I’ve had WiFi go out on me before. I’ve had audio shut off on me before.
We have had web pages fail on us and all of a sudden aren’t live when we need them to be live, so people can purchase and sign up and so forth. Just every imaginable circumstance in terms of things that can go wrong, plan for them to go wrong. That’s what I have learned. Plan for them to go wrong. And the real skill set here, though, is learning how to be calm amongst the craziness, amongst the chaos, all right? And so it’s not hoping and wishing for calm waters. It’s building the skill set to be a very talented sailor or captain when the waters are rough. All right? And that is a big part of entrepreneurship and is a big part of growing your online business. So I want to talk to you guys about how we have a couple of things that we did, a few examples of what we did in scenarios where things weren’t going exactly right. All right? So there has been scenarios in the past when I was getting started running live virtual events such as mini workshops. I remember that I was super nervous for one of the very first presentations, which is pretty normal, right?
And I was good through the presenting of the material. But when it came time to make an offer, I got a little bit nervous in the presentation of the offer. I wasn’t necessarily articulating myself well, I was kind of rushing through it, all of those types of things. All right? Now, the offer I did not present the offer in the manner in which I had hoped, in the manner in which I had practiced, in the manner in which I envisioned. It wasn’t smooth. It was not smooth. Now, we still had conversions, all right? This is one of the reasons we just love mini workshops, is if you set up the presentation correctly of the mini workshop, if you have certain things aligned, you are still going to convert. So at the end of the day, this still 100% works, even if you’re not the best presenter. However, I’m always looking to get better at, obviously, how many the percentage of attendees to a live virtual training and how many actually convert into the core offer. So I do my pitch. It’s not the greatest one, guys. Guess what? That happens, right? Massive learning lesson. And again, you just get better with repetition.
And so I recognized afterwards, I was like, that was not the best pitch I have ever made, all right? And so at that point, I can just go, wow, that sucked. And I could have been emotionally or whatever, I could have let that bother me, but I was like, man, that was terrible. Dino and then I asked myself a very important question, which is, what can I do moving forward? What can I do from this point onwards? Right? And that’s a big question that I think a lot of entrepreneurs, even ones that are very experienced, forget to ask themselves, because when things go a little bit wrong, you still have options, all right? So you are still 100% in control of your emotions and how you respond to said event, all right? And so I sat there and I asked myself, okay, what can I do? Because that pitch, the delivery of my pitch, wasn’t fantastic, so what can I do from here? So I thought about it, and then I remember hearing another entrepreneur online talk about how you can always re record the pitch. And I was like, that’s something I could do.
So right afterwards, I sit down at my computer and I go ahead and I record, just me, the actual offer. I record it again. So I’m no longer in a live scenario with live attendees. I just re recorded the offer. I tell all the stories I need to, I make all the main points, I explain how you can enroll and all the different things. And so I go through the offer and the pitch. The delivery of the offer, in terms of the articulation of the value, was much better afterwards, right? I kind of calmed down a little bit. So re recorded it, offer came out amazing. So then when I was going to put together the replay page, right? Anytime you do a live training, you want to record it and you want to have a replay for those that want to rewatch the training or otherwise those that could not attend live but registered so that you can get them the replay out and they can go ahead and check that out. So on the Replay page above, the first video on the Replay page is the actual workshop itself, the actual core training.
And so there’s that one. And so I gave that a title. I go, hey, this is the workshop on this topic. Click here to watch the replay. Underneath that first video of the replay, I had a shorter video, which was my ten minute offer, all right? The second video is me rerecording the delivery of the offer. And that’s why I labeled that. Hey, limited time special offer, right? Watch this video. And underneath that second video, which is the offer, I had a big button for people to click to enroll, all right? And so then what we did, right, is I sent out an email to everybody who registered. I go, hey, check out the replay and check out the Limited Time Special offer as well. It’s on the replay page. So we send that replay page out, and lo and behold, people that missed the workshop live or those that wanted to catch the replay to slow things down and take notes on different areas and so forth, they get. The replay page, which also contains a much more polished delivery of the core offer as the second video on the page that they could watch.
All right. And so after sending out the replay, we immediately saw a second wave of sales came in because we had a wave of conversions that happened live on the training, even though it was a horrible, horrible pitch or delivery of the delivery of the pitch. And then we sent out the replay. People were able to watch the replay. And again, sometimes people, even if you have a perfect delivery of your offer, sometimes people need to hear it twice, or sometimes they need to sit down with a significant other and review it together before they can make a decision. There’s different elements, but they were able to check out the actual offer again. And from there we had a second wave of conversions just from the replay, from the replay and the redo of the offer. And so biggest takeaways here, guys, that’s just one example of many. But the biggest takeaway here, guys, is that one, things are not going to go perfect for you online. There’s going to be days when you’re trying to write content it and you’re not in a writing mode. It’s going to be days when you do a live training, it doesn’t come out perfect.
There’s going to be days when your Internet goes out. There’s going to be days when XYZ personal things pop up in your life, and you have to attend to those. There’s going to be circumstances where things aren’t perfect. The question is, right, can you keep your head on straight? Can you keep your emotionally sound and stable? And then can you ask yourself that question, what can I do? What adjustments can I make? Because most likely when you ask yourself that question, that there is an opportunity still for you to capitalize on whatever it is you’re trying to do. So that was one example, me doing a Blotched offer in one of my very first workshops a few years ago. And the second one, this one happened more recently, where we set up another mini workshop and people were not registering for it. I thought the topic of the workshop was phenomenal. I thought a ton of people were going to be excited for it, and people were not registering. And so I was like, we were sending traffic to the registration page, but people were not registering. And so I was kind of baffled. I was like, okay, I can either get real frustrated and pissed off and that so far, this isn’t going the way I expect, or I can make adjustments.
And so I looked at things, and as it turned out, all it took was for me to update the headline of the registration page. And the headlines, normally the 80 20 rule of optimizing landing pages for conversions is your headline. So I go, that’s the first thing I was looking at is I go, I know that this mini workshop topic is fire. I know it’s awesome. I know people are going to love the training. But I was like, I must not be articulating how cool of a training this is going to be. So I went back to the headline on the registration page. I copy wrote it a little bit differently. I read it to myself several times. I passed it over to a few others, said, what do you think about this? Would you register for this? They go, yeah, that one sounds way better. I like that one a lot. And so, literally, without changing anything else, we’re not changing the mini workshop topic. We’re not changing the name of the mini workshop. We’re not changing the training or the dates or the times of the mini workshop. We didn’t change anything. All I changed was the headline on the registration page for the workshop to better articulate the value of this live training.
And then we continued our marketing. And as we sent traffic back to that exact same registration page, all of a sudden people started registering left and right, and we sold out all of the spots we had for that workshop. And the workshop was incredible. And then conversions on the back end were incredible. Everything worked out nicely, but all it was was tweaking the headline. So, again, remaining dynamic and flexible in an online environment that requires you to do so because things won’t go perfect, you may not get it right the first time. That is okay. That’s a big difference between you and your competition, is that at those moments that’s normally when people cave or when they force something to happen and what they really should be doing is making adjustments or optimizing or being more flexible with what they do. All right, so, biggest takeaways, guys, is that if you try something and it fails, try again, right? Go ahead and take a peek at it a second time and ask yourself, what can I do to make this better so that it does work? And most likely, you will come across an opportunity for you to do so, and that ultimately separates you from everyone else who gives up when things don’t go perfectly on the very first try.
