In today’s episode, guys, we’re going to talk about how to be more productive as an online coach because it makes a difference.

Let’s dive into it now.

Hey guys, Dino Gomez here and you are listening to the Secrets of Coaching podcast, where we break down the nuances of growing a seven figure online coaching business. And we are about to get started in 3 2 1. All right, guys, how to be more productive as an online coach or as an online entrepreneur? Let’s dive into this one because this kind of ties right into the previous episode of How to Deal with Overwhelm.

But one of the ways for you to also deal with overwhelm or anxiety or any of the entrepreneurial things and, you know, kind of experiences, lessons, emotions, all that stuff is just being more productive.

It’s like getting more done with the time that you have.

And so here are just a couple quick fire tips to help you guys be more productive. Number one is don’t check your email until you’ve at least gotten two and a half, three hours of work done in your day. All right. That is a huge one. Most people wake up, they check their phone, they see an email, then they start going down that rabbit hole, they sign up to webinar.

All of a sudden you’re you know, you started by checking your email, hoping to be productive.

Have a great day. And now you register for a webinar that you’re going to watch at 2 p.m. later that day. And then you’re responding to other inquiries in your email. And you have the most brainpower, the first four hours of your workday. Yet that’s where your brain is functioning at high capacity, the most creative. And again, some people get very creative at the evenings and so forth. But ninety eight percent, I made that number up.

But basically almost everybody is most productive and has the most energy earlier in the day, because you just woke up. So you have that energy, your brain has that capacity. And so the first several hours of your workday need to be need to be designated to get in the biggest and most difficult tasks done inside your business. All right. So the thing you would prefer to procrastinate is the number one thing you need to get done first because you have the most willpower earlier in the day.

All right. So if it’s like, gosh, I really don’t want to run our numbers for the month, I really don’t want to run our numbers for the week and see how many leads we generated and how many sales calls we booked and then how many we closed. I don’t want to do that math. Right. It has to be done. You have to know your numbers as an entrepreneur. You should be doing all those things you have to be tracking so that you understand you’ll see correlations.

Right. That will help you continue to grow your business. And normally they’re pretty obvious, like, oh, my gosh I spent, you know, an extra five hours prospecting this week and we ended up with three extra phone calls and we signed two extra clients. Maybe I should spend more time prospecting or hire somebody to prospect. Like you’ll start seeing correlations.

You should be tracking your numbers, looking at your numbers and stuff like that.

For me, it’s not my most favorite thing to do, but it’s important task. So if it’s the end of the week, if it’s the end of the month, then I’m like, yep, I’m not excited about doing this. It’s not a fun sitting there and pulling in all the different numbers. It is fun looking at them. I will say that it is fun looking at the numbers and being like, wow, like we had a great month there.

Wow. Look at this.

Cool. Isn’t this interesting?

We turned on these new Facebook ads this week and look at how much it impacted the number of sales calls we had and the number of closings we had. That part is fun.

Pulling in all the data isn’t persey, but it’s still something I like to manually do because it makes me, you know, really remember the numbers. I could outsource that. But that’s one of those things I like. I don’t like doing it, but I know it’s good for me because I’m spending more time looking at those numbers and really understanding them now anyway. It’s a little bit of random and tangent there about data tracking. But those tasks that you don’t want to do, you should do first in your day so you ensure they get done.

You have the most willpower at the start of your day and you’re the most productive, generally speaking.

So that’s that’s number one. That’s one of the ways you can be more productive as an online coach is you don’t check your email. And then number two is you immediately get to work on the most important items in your business in particular, and particularly the ones that you don’t want to do but need to get done. All right. And then the next one is also don’t you don’t check Facebook, right? You don’t check Facebook, don’t wake up, check Facebook.

It will send you down a wormhole. It can destroy and affect your emotions. So, leave that till noon. Trust me, whatever somebody posted will still be there at noon for you to see. All right. And so that leads me to item number three, which is because you’re more productive and have the most willpower, the first four hours of the day, schedule your meetings, phone calls, appointments, Facebook lives, general social media stuff, any of the stuff that doesn’t take a lot of brainpower.

Schedule that for the second half of your day. Like, I can sit back for the second half of my day and take sales calls all day long. I can right now it’s it’s three thirty in the afternoon. I can sit here and record and rip out ten podcasts in a row. This is very easy for me to do. It doesn’t require a ton of brainpower, whereas, you know, playing with numbers, figuring out a new software solution, actually integrating different things like those types of things, putting together an SOP for a new team member, which we just brought yet another team member.

So doing those types of tasks, I do it first thing in the day. It has to get done. It’s more difficult to do. It requires more willpower. All right. Second half the day could be all of our team calls and our team huddles meetings. If I’m going to do a Facebook live, if I’m going to do a YouTube video, I’m going to do a podcast episode. I’m going to do it the second half the day.

And because it’s easier to do, but also it’s something to look forward to. It’s the thing I most enjoy to do. Most enjoy doing. Right. So I crashed the first part of the day, doing all the things I have to get done and have my lunch break, maybe a workout. And then now I’m like, cool. Now I get to do the, you know, be creative for the second half of the day, kind of unwind a little bit and have a ton of fun.

And so it’s it’s a good way to make your workday a lot of fun. Something to look forward to while in it. Check  all the boxes. It allows you to get done the must do items when you schedule your day like this. And then it also allows you to have something to look forward to. And so it makes it very fun for the second half the day.

And yeah, so doing those things, just those little things will make you more productive. Number 1, Don’t check your email until at least you’ve been working for two or three hours. Number two, don’t check Facebook for several hours. Number three, the first four hours of your day have to be dedicated to the most important and most difficult tasks. The second four hours every day should be more social type things or more creative type things.

And then the fourth one I’ll leave you guys with is to schedule what you’re doing the next day. That is huge because otherwise if you want to get better sleep and if you want to be more productive, you need to know what you’re doing the next day. And naturally it’s proven. like your brain will solve problems. And so if you’re like, OK, I really need to figure this out by tomorrow or this is happening tomorrow, your brain will help you figure that out.

And that way you don’t spend the first and most critical hours of your day, which are the first few working hours.

That way you’re not spending it, trying to figure out what to do because you will fall into the trap of checking your email and checking Facebook and social media if you do not have a schedule of what you should be doing. So that is why it’s so important to then plan. Here’s what I’m doing tomorrow so that, you know, I’m waking up and I’m knocking out these four tasks. They have to get done. I am doing them because, you know, that you you know, and then you tell yourself, I’m not allowed to check email or social media until these four tasks are done.

Then you’re going to have a very productive day. Now, if you don’t have anything to do or you don’t know what to do, you’re most likely going to resort to email or social media. And now you are playing somebody else’s game. Now you’re on their time and now you’re going down their rabbit hole rather than vice versa, which is, you know, you should be working inside your business, not being distracted. All right. And so those are just for quickfire tips for you guys to be more productive as an online coach or an entrepreneur.
